Hiking clubs/groups?

I am relatively new to this area and I have been looking for hiking clubs the conventional way, with no luck. Does anyone know of any? Thanks!

    There is a small free paper (you can get them a convenience stores) called The New Times...its the bible of what to do in Az.....I remember seeing lots of hike clubs there in the past....my favorite was..."A club for drinkers with a hiking problem" met at a bar once a month to plan hikes"
